Yesterday, an enthusiastic group of Rotarians and guests bagged 500 trees for Wellesley fourth graders!
Led by Susy Jordon, Horticultural Technician for the Town of Wellesley/DPW, the volunteers bagged the 500 White Spruce saplings with loam into plastic bags and tied them ready for distribution. Next week Susy Jordon will conduct nature lessons for all the fourth grades in Wellesley and will hand out Saplings to the students for planting.
The Arbor Day tree bagging has been sponsored and led by Rotary Club of Wellesley for over forty years. Yesterday’s tree bagging set a record for the number of volunteers and time required to bag the trees (45 minutes).
Thanks to the volunteers: John Adams, Donna Armentano, Tom Atkinson, Lucy Costa, Tory Salvatore, Willian Dole, Don Eburne, Patrick Hayden, Carol Hildebrand, Janet King, Don McCauley, Carl Nelson, Deb Perkins, Susie Perkins, Nora Pou (and mom), Frank Rowbotham, Paul Shellito, Vin Spoto, Phyllis Theerman and Linda Tighe.
