Our programs at the Wellesley Rotary Club continue to focus on: Food Insecurity, The Environment, Students, and support of Rotary International worldwide programs. But today is about something different.
Ukraine has 60 Rotary clubs. The first was sponsored in 1929 by our District. This month, our club with others in the district raised $125,000 for supplies and medicines for the Ukraine people.
The devastation is widespread, and our Club is made up of many animal lovers who are also passionate about helping the animals affected by this war. We are working with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) to provide food, shelter, and medical supplies for these animals; many suffering from being left behind, hurt, or traumatized. We are hosting a fun fundraiser during the Wellesley Wonderful Weekend to support these efforts!

We invite Wellesley’s dog lovers to enter their dogs in our Pooch Parade. Bring your family and watch the dogs compete for cutest, biggest ears, best kissers, etc. while contributing to a very worthy cause.

IFAW executives will be joining us as our guest speakers at our club meeting on May 17th to fill us in on the conditions they are dealing with in Ukraine. One of the speakers is Shannon Walajtys, Director – Disaster Response & Risk Reduction who is just returning from Poland.
